Georgia Tech vs. Wake Forest

Georgia Tech’s offense came to life and its defense settled down in the second half against Wake Forest on Saturday night.

The Yellow Jackets fought back from a 21-10 deficit to win 38-24 at Bobby Dodd Stadium on homecoming.

Trailing 21-13 at halftime, Tech quickly forced a punt coming out of the locker room and then scored on the first offensive play.

Quarterback TaQuon Marshall took an outside run down the right sideline for 47 yards to pull Tech within two points after a failed two-point conversion.

After a Wake Forest field goal, Qua Searcy’s 42-yard touchdown run gave the Jackets their first lead since the score was 10-7. They once again failed on the two point-conversion, making the score 25-24.

With the defense getting it another stop, Tech struck again. B-back KirVonte Benson found the end zone this time, taking it 11 yards up the middle to put it ahead a score. Brenton King’s extra-point try was blocked, though, making it the third consecutive score in which Tech didn’t add a point after a touchdown.

Trying to run out the clock late, Marshall’s 70-yard touchdown run on third down with 1:57 remaining gave the Jackets a 38-24 lead.
