ATLANTA, GA — Police on Wednesday arrested a third person accused in the November murder of Chelsea Beller, a manager at Barcelona Wine Bar, during a robbery at the bar.
Terry Jones, 19, was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, where he had just arrived on a flight early Wednesday morning. He was met at the gate by investigators and taken into custody, said Atlanta Police Department spokesman Officer Donald Hannah.
Beller, 29, was shot and killed during a 2:30 a.m. robbery at the wine bar on Nov. 19. According to police, three men came into the restaurant, at 1084 Howell Mill Rd., as it was closing, tied up employees and forced Beller to open the safe. One of them then shot her.
Beller was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
In December, Samuel Ott, 21, was taken into custody by the department’s fugitive unit after his DNA was matched to evidence linked to the crime scene, police said. Then, last month, police secured arrest warrants for Carlous Bailey, 20, in Beller’s death.
Bailey already was being held in DeKalb County Jail, accused in the May 25 armed robbery at The Pinewood on West Ponce de Leon Avenue in Decatur.
“We do believe there were other individuals involved in this crime and anticipate additional arrests,” Hannah said on Wednesday. “The investigation continues.”
Jones was charged with felony murder and taken to Fulton County Jail, Hannah said. A fundraiser to help support Beller’s family raised more than $27,000.
